The Challenge Games date for 2026 is 29th and 30th of July.
The Challenge Games was another amazing event in 2025 at the Townsville Sports Precinct. 2026 will be even bigger and better.
2025 Reflections
After a slow start on Wednesday morning due to the rain, the March Past took place at 9:30 a.m., with all the dignitaries in attendance. Following the march past and a performance by the Townsville Community Learning Centre’s signing choir, the Challenge Games were officially opened by Adam Baillie, the State Member for Townsville.
This year, the Challenge Games attracted 995 participants, including over 30 students registered in the Gayle Brodie Trials. Children had the opportunity to take part in a variety of athletic events, as well as other activities such as Wheelchair Rugby League, Table Tennis, and NetAbility, to name just a few.
There were countless happy faces when free ice creams were handed out on Wednesday, and the free breakfast supplied by the Daybreak Rotary Club on Thursday morning was also greatly enjoyed by participants.
We can’t wait to see what 2026 has in store.
